Jinnah had no credibility at that time when He offered Giani Kartar Singh that his each and every condition will be accepted if Sikhs stay with Pakistan. But, after Rawalpindi Sikh massacre by Muslims, and not a single word of condemnation by Muslim league, Sikhs got angry with Jinnah and all Muslim league that's why they never accepted to stay with Pakistan. Muslim league lost it's credibility after that incident. Even Calcutta massacre, Muslim League never condemned anyone. On the other hand Gandhi and Nehru were always there for Muslims why they faced such situation.
The Rawalpindi massacre happened in March-1947 at that time Jinnah had assurance from British that Pakistan would get whole Punjab and whole Bengal. That's why he never showed any interest for Sikhs. When he got to know the big plan then he met Giani Kartar Singh.

I am not defending anyone here. I have just mentioned the facts that Jinnah also had lost credibility. Nehru and Gandhi, why they did not condemn the mass killing of Rawalpindi ? They should have. I am mentioning that the Calcutta killings where Gandhi and Nehru stood for Muslims. Even Sir Francis Tucker who is very anti Hindu and anti Congress, mentions that the action of Nehru in Calcutta to save Muslims was very humane.
What Kartar Singh did or did not, that's not my point. Maybe he did it to avenge mass killings of Rawalpindi ? I mean every Sikh who moved from Rawalpindi to Delhi, did the same thing with Muslims who were sitting on Delhi train station to go to Pakistan. Communal Violence always works both ways.
I am also criticizing my leaders the Muslim League, they should have stopped Muslims from killing innocent Sikhs and Hindus. By doing this, might be some innocent lives would have been saved. Nehru and Gandhi did save Muslims of India on some points like mentioned above. I am not saying that Congress was perfect but they handled many situations better than Muslim League.
